Storm Damage September 2008

We had been away for a wedding in Salt Lake City and arrived home Sunday, September 14. Our landing was like an amusement park ride. The plane rolled and bumped for about 20 minutes. When we finally landed and parked the plane was still rocking. The pilot informed us that the winds were 40 - 60 miles an hour and they had just evacuated the tower. We were suffering from leftovers from hurricane Ike. The drive home was a little shaky. The radio kept us informed of broken limbs, blocked roadways and flying debris. We just wanted to get home to a safe place. We arrived home to find a huge limb in the driveway that needed to be moved. A kind neighbor came over and helped. We had no electric. We did have running water. We were tired enough that we just went to bed when it got dark. The electric came on at 10:30 PM on Tuesday. A little longer than expected, but many were worse off then we were. I have posted a few pictures including my hard hat worker clearing limbs.

Wow! Wasn't it Wednesday when the electricity came on?
